Innocent: The teenage sisters were filmed playing and dancing outside their home
Two teenage sisters have been murdered in Pakistan after they were accused of tarnishing their family’s name by making a video of themselves dancing in the rain.The girls, aged 15 and 16, are seen running around in traditional dress with two other younger children outside their bungalow in the town of Chilas, in the northern region of Gilgit.
The sisters, named as Noor Basra and Noor Sheza, appear to break into dance and one even flashes a smile at the camera. However, when the footage was circulated via mobile phones, it caused outrage in the conservative Pakistani town.
Last Sunday the girls were shot alongside their mother in their home by five gunmen. Police are investigating whether the attack was arranged by the girls' step-brother, named as Khutore, who allegedly wanted to 'restore the family's honour'.

In a chat with Vanguard in Lagos, the elated woman, who pleaded anonymity, probably for cultural reasons, described it as “20 years of tensed waiting for her marriage to produce fruits.” The jubilant nursing mother and her husband said they were not after publicity but decided to speak to the press in order to encourage couples who are presently facing similar challenges in their marriage not to give up, adding that it is never too late for anyone. Doctor describes attempt to save 'sopranos' actor gandolfini

LOS ANGELES/ROME (Reuters) - Doctors in Italy battled for 40 minutes to save the life of James Gandolfini, the burly actor best known for his Emmy-winning role as a mob boss in the TV series "The Sopranos," before pronouncing him dead on Wednesday at age 51.
Gandolfini, whose performance as Tony Soprano made him a household name and ushered in a new era of American television drama, was vacationing in Rome and had been scheduled to attend the closing of the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily on Saturday.
He was taken from his Rome hotel to the city's Umberto I hospital late on Wednesday, according to a hospital spokesperson.
"The resuscitation maneuvers, including heart massage etc., continued for 40 minutes and then, seeing no electric activity from the heart, this was interrupted and we declared James dead," Claudio Modini, the emergency room chief, told Reuters.
"The patient was considered dead on arrival, and for that reason an autopsy has been requested to be carried out by a pathologist, as is normal procedure in our country."
The autopsy has been scheduled for Friday morning.
Michael Kobold, a friend of the family, told reporters the actor was found by a relative at his hotel in central Rome after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Since "The Sopranos" ended its six-season run in June 2007, Gandolfini appeared in a number of big-screen roles, including "Zero Dark Thirty," a film about the hunt for Osama bin Laden, and the crime drama "Killing Them Softly."
At the time of his death, he had been working on an upcoming HBO series, "Criminal Justice," and had two motion pictures due out next year.
Actress Edie Falco, who played Gandolfini's wife, Carmela, in "The Sopranos," said she was devastated by his passing.
"He was a man of tremendous depth and sensitivity, with a kindness and generosity beyond words. I consider myself very lucky to have spent 10 years as his close colleague," she said in a statement.
Gandolfini began his career as a stage actor in New York and went on to earn a Tony nomination for his role in the original 2009 Broadway cast of the dark comedy "God of Carnage."
While he shared Tony Soprano's Italian-American heritage and New Jersey roots, the actor was known for his reserved demeanor off-camera and generally shied away from publicity.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie described the actor's sudden death as a shock.
"I was a huge fan of his and the character he played so authentically, Tony Soprano. I have gotten to know Jimmy and many of the other actors in the Sopranos cast and I can say that each of them are an individual New Jersey treasure," he said in a statement.
LOVABLE GANGSTER
In the HBO series, Gandolfini created a gangster different from any previously seen in American television or film.
He was capable of killing enemies with his own hands but was prone to panic attacks. He loved his wife and was a doting father, but he carried on a string of affairs.
He regularly saw a therapist, portrayed by Lorraine Bracco, to work out his anxiety problems and issues with his mother.
By the start of the show's final season, Gandolfini suggested he was ready to move on to more gentle roles once his TV mobster days were over.
"I'm too tired to be a tough guy or any of that stuff anymore," he said. "We pretty much used all that up in this show."
The program, which earned Gandolfini three Emmy Awards as best lead actor in a drama series, was considered by many critics the finest drama to have aired on U.S. television.
The series was a major factor in establishing HBO, a pay-cable network once focused on presentations of feature films, as a powerhouse of original dramatic television and in shifting the kind of sophisticated storytelling once reserved for the big screen to TV.
The series concluded with an episode that strongly suggested Tony was about to be murdered before abruptly ending mid-scene, cutting from a shot of Gandolfini's face to a blank screen.
His role paved the way for a parade of popular prime-time shows built around profoundly flawed characters and anti-heroes, from "Dexter" and "Breaking Bad" to "Mad Men" and "Nurse Jackie."
David Chase, creator of "The Sopranos," said he would remember him as "a genius" and "one of the greatest actors of this or any time."
"A great deal of that genius resided in those sad eyes. I remember telling him many times, 'You don't get it. You're like Mozart.' There would be silence at the other end of the phone," Chase said in a statement.
Actress Marcia Gay Harden, his co-star in "God of Carnage," saluted Gandolfini as a "great partner, masterful actor and a loving, generous human being."
Susan Sarandon, who played his wife in the 2005 romantic comedy "Romance and Cigarettes," remembered him in a Twitter posting as "one of the sweetest, funniest, most generous actors I've ever worked with."
Gandolfini is due to appear on the big screen next year, playing the love interest of comic actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the film "Enough Said." He also has a role in the upcoming New York crime drama, "Animal Rescue."
Both are set for U.S. release by News Corp-owned studio Fox Searchlight.
Before becoming an actor, Gandolfini worked as a truck driver, bouncer and nightclub manager in New York City. He went to an acting class with a friend and got hooked.
"I'd also never been around actors before," he told Time magazine, "and I said to myself, 'These people are nuts; this is kind of interesting.'"
Born in Westwood, New Jersey, Gandolfini was raised in a working-class, Italian-American family. His father was a bricklayer and high school custodian. His mother worked in a school cafeteria.
In an interview on the television program "Inside the Actors Studio," he said his parents spoke Italian at home when they did not want the children to understand them.
"So they didn't teach it to my sisters or myself," he said.
Gandolfini had a son, Michael, with his first wife, Marcy Wudarski, whom he divorced in 2002. In 2008 he married model Deborah Lin, who gave birth to a daughter, Liliana, in 2012.

Wizkid and his manager Godwin Tom were invited by men of the Nigeria Police Force – Zone 2 Command, Onikan, today June 19th after students of the UNILAG reported the music star to the police. The students claim that Wizkid collected N500, 000 from them as full payment for a show that was supposed to hold at UNILAG Sports Centre on May 24th tagged Concert of Life. They claim Wizkid didn’t show up for the show and didn’t return their money so they went to the police.
Wizkid was at Zone 2 for a few hours this afternoon with his team. He was bailed by his lawyer after he wrote a statement and was asked to report back to the station next week.

I wish God will forgive me ,it started 2004 when I got married and after some years we could not conceive. Me and my husband went to hospital and I was told that am suffering from blocking of fallopian tubes while my hubby had low sperm count.
After some treatment no results and my hubby wanted to travel to London and hoping
to come back in 2yrs time. I decided to lie to my hubby that am pregnant and he was happy, after 2months he left for London and I was staying alone. My hubby kept asking after our child and I told
him the baby was kicking.
I decided to make enquiry about how to adopt. I arranged with one man in river state about adopting twins likely a girl and a boy or 2 boys.
After 9months of faking my pregnant to my hubby, doctor told me that the children are ready, I rented a 2 bedroom flat far away from where i was living before. I went and brought those children, I paid 700,000 to doctor and I gave the young mother 100,000. I just felt like giving the mother the money because I know the doctor will settle her later.
I saw many young girls there waiting to deliver. I called my hubby and him that I have given birth to twins a boy and a girl, my hubby was very happy. I hired bus from river state to Lagos here, I came back smoothly and with a nanny helping me out. My hubby kept sending me money every month.
My twins are very beautiful, I sent the pictures to my hubby, he was very happy. After 5yrs my hubby came back, he loves those children more than me.
My problem is this. How can I tell my hubby that those children does not belong to us. How can I tell him that I adopted them with his money.
How will he react to it. He is suffering from HBP that started 2yrs ago. He doesn't joke

The community have also agreed not to conduct any formal burial service for the father.'

the NEMA warns lagosians about heavy rainfall today
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has warned that there will be severe weather and heavy rainfall in Lagos tomorrow Tuesday June 18th.
NEMA spokesperson, Ibrahim Farinloye, said the early warning is based on alerts received from the African Centre of Meterological Applications for Development based in Niamey, Niger Republic.
He said:
“In Nigeria, Lagos and its environs are expected to experience torrential rainfall from about 50 mm 24h: Confidence medium means that all stakeholders must be prepared to take all precautionary steps against leaving the warning unattended.

(Reuters) - "Man of Steel," the big-budget reboot of the Superman franchise, leaped over the apocalyptic buddy comedy "This is the End," collecting a muscular $113.1 million to lead the domestic box office with the year's second-largest debut weekend and the biggest June opening ever.
"Man of Steel," starring British-born Henry Cavill in the first Superman movie released in seven years, carried a hefty budget of $225 million and took in a total of $125 million through Sunday including early screenings, according to BoxOffice.com.
The special-effects laden film is the story of the infant Kal-El, who escapes his doomed home planet Krypton and grows up in the idyllic town of Smallville with his parents, played by Kevin Costner and Diane Lane. Amy Adams plays the budding super hero's girlfriend Lois Lane.
The film, directed by Zack Snyder, with Christopher Nolan ("The Dark Knight," "Inception") serving as co-writer and one of its producers, added $71.6 million from overseas box offices in 24 markets.
"Today is a big day for us," said Warner Bros' president of theatrical distribution Dan Fellman, noting the film's record opening. He added that "Man of Steel" was now well-poised to reap big box office "in the heart of the summer play time."
The studio was also pleased by 56 percent male, 44 percent female audience, which Fellman said bodes well being a higher-female makeup than was usual for superhero-centered pictures.
"The film is playing extremely well for fan boys as well as the family," he said.
"This is the End," written by star Seth Rogen and his childhood friend Evan Goldberg, collected $20.5 million at theaters in the domestic market comprised of the United States and Canada, according to studio estimates collected by Reuters.
"We're off to a really good start," said Rory Bruer, Sony Pictures' president of worldwide distribution.
Citing "great word of mouth," Bruer predicted the movie "is going to be one of those films that's going to be around for a good part of the summer. It's so fresh and original," he added.
The comedy depicting the end of the world stars more than a dozen well-known Hollywood actors including James Franco, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera and Emma Watson.
In third place, the comedy heist caper "Now You See Me" continued its stronger-than-expected showing with ticket sales of $10.3 million, bringing its three-week total to $80 million.
"Man of Steel" came out of the gate roaring, with $9 million in midnight showings early on Friday morning, according to the box office division of Hollywood.com, adding $12 million in Thursday showings in association with retailer Walmart.
The film broke the record of $110.3 million held by 2010's "Toy Story 3" for a June opening and was this year's second-biggest debut weekend after "Iron Man 3."
"The Purge," made for $3 million by the producer of the low-budget "Paranormal Activity" series, finished fifth with $8.2 million, behind the speeding car franchise sixth film, "Fast & Furious 6," which took in $9.4 million in its fourth week in release for a total of $220 million since Memorial Day.
Starring Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey, "The Purge" is set in 2022 when the U.S. government reduces crime by allowing almost all crime to go unpunished during a 12-hour "purge" period.
"The Internship," a comedy starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson based on the antics of nerds in search of a job at internet giant Google, continued its lackluster box office showing, selling $7 million worth of tickets to finish sixth.
"After Earth," a $130 million post-apocalyptic thriller starring Will Smith and his teenage son Jaden, continued its weak showing at U.S. and Canadian box office with $3.6 million, in ninth place. "After Earth" did perform well overseas, selling $24 million worth of tickets outside the domestic market.

Why we oppose use of condom for family planning - Catholic Church Culled from Punch
The Catholic church says it opposes artificial family planning techniques, because it encourages bastardisation of sexual activities by young people and “impedes normal procreation.”
The Secretary-General of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ralph Madu, made this clarification in a response to an enquiry by The Punch on Sunday.
He said, “The Catholic Church believes that modern means, including the use of condoms is morally bad because it impedes normal procreation. You can meet with your wife when you do not want children and those periods when the woman is not fertile instead of having to destroy the sperm and all other forms of artificial prevention.
“They are very artificial means and they do not really give the moral lesson that borders around the use of the sexual organs.
“The one that gives you the opportunity to exercise your sexual urge without the consequences is the natural method and the church says you should go for the natural means.”
According to him, the excuse that it reduces the spread of HIV/AIDS remains invalid and untenable, adding HIV/AIDS is a disease that is prevalent among young people.
Madu added, “When you are talking about condom among young people, you are also talking about promiscuity. People have adduced arguments in case of people with HIV/AIDS and especially couples who do not want children. The use of condom and other modern means are being bastardised among young young people because they will resort to the use of condom so that they can have sex freely without impregnating the woman or getting pregnant.
“Those are various artificial means and the church is strongly against them. Instead, the church endorsed the natural method of copulation.”

We believe it's possible to create a ring of balloons that fly around the globe on the stratospheric winds and provide Internet access to the earth below. Balloons present some really hard science problems, but we're excited about the progress so far.
